Daily Diva Word – Again
Daily Diva Word – Again. When we were children, we were so into our present surrounding we could watch a movie or play a game, over and over again. As adults, we usually grow tired of the AGAIN game, as if delight was an inconvenience. Remember the last time you got flowers? Wouldn’t it be great to get them again? How about the last time you had a manicure, a massage, a kiss, a hot fudge sundae. All of those delights fall into the category of AGAIN. With everything in life, you have a choice to use your powers for good or evil. Make, Let’s Do It Again, your call to arms for a life full of fun and delight. And the next time you run across something that just tickles you pink, by all means, do it AGAIN.
What are some of your favorite things that need to be done again? As a girl, I loved the way that Julie Andrews sang My Favorite Things. I was always mesmerized by the list she had conjured up (or rather Rodgers and Hammerstein, Oscar Hammerstein II wrote the lyrics). I still loved it when Carrie Underwood sang it on NBC’s live production of The Sound of Music for Audra
My Favorite Things (Sound of Music)
“Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things,
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things.
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things.”
What’s On Your List of Favorite Things?
I know I’ve had trouble coming up with a list of my favorite things, but I’ve been working on it. Here are a few of my favorite things: valet parking, chai latte tea, pink suede high heels, the scent of gardenias, children laughing, Billy Joel singing anything, running horses, the first three dates, a kiss when it’s not expected, babies and puppies and kittens.
You owe it to yourself to make a list of your favorite things and then, do it AGAIN. Just listen to Julie and you’ll be happy.
